Taste & Appearance: Tart-spicy with a pleasant sharpness, a true classic among sprouts. The delicate, light green leaves look fresh and appealing on any plate.
Usage: Pure or as an addition to bread and sandwiches, in combination with quark, butter or cheese, as well as a spicy addition to salads, soups and egg dishes. Also excellent as a topping for dips, toast and for refining vegetable dishes.
Cultivation: Traditionally grown in a sprouting jar or on a cress sieve - the sprouts germinate particularly quickly and are ready for harvest after just 4 to 7 days.
Ingredients: Organic cress seeds (Lepidium sativum).
That's how quality is done.
Before the seeds are sold, each new batch undergoes an extensive quality control process to determine its germination capacity:
- Microbiological Testing: Our suppliers test each batch to ensure that no seed-borne pathogens such as fungi, bacteria, and viruses are present.
- Standard Testing: A standardized test is carried out as a first step.
- Adjustment of Growing Medium: Depending on the variety and the results of the first test, the procedure is repeated on a different growing medium.
- Additional Testing: Special varieties undergo a third test, which includes specific conditions such as the use of heating mats.
